Prescription Lobbying Statement

Prescription Beauty is committed to contributing to positive social and environmental change within the beauty industry and beyond. We actively engage in advocacy and awareness-raising activities that align with our purpose, values, and commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices.

Our advocacy efforts primarily take place through our social media channels, where we share information, raise awareness, and encourage conversations about relevant social and environmental topics.

In addition, Prescription Beauty is a member of the B Beauty Coalition, a collective of B Corp certified beauty companies working together to drive positive change and promote more sustainable and responsible practices across the beauty industry.

While Prescription Beauty does not currently engage in direct political lobbying with policymakers, we recognise that our communication activities and participation in industry coalitions may contribute to broader public policy discussions and indirect advocacy.

Positive social and environmental impact

Prescription Beauty actively supports initiatives and conversations that contribute to positive social and environmental impact.

Through our social media platforms and participation in the B Beauty Coalition, we aim to raise awareness, share knowledge, and encourage positive change within the beauty industry.

All advocacy activities undertaken or supported by Prescription Beauty must align with our social and environmental commitments and should contribute to a more responsible, inclusive, and sustainable beauty industry.

Evidence-based lobbying and advocacy

Prescription Beauty is committed to ensuring that its advocacy activities, public communications, and positions on social and environmental issues are informed by reliable, credible, and verifiable information.

Where relevant, we use scientific research, reputable institutions, and other trustworthy sources to support the information and perspectives we share through our social media channels and industry collaborations.

We aim to communicate transparently and responsibly, avoiding misleading claims, selective presentation of evidence, or the misrepresentation of facts.

This evidence-based approach also guides our participation in collaborative initiatives, including the B Beauty Coalition, ensuring that our advocacy efforts remain aligned with our values and commitment to positive impact.

Political contributions

Prescription Beauty does not make financial or in-kind contributions to political parties, politicians, election candidates, political campaigns, or political action organisations.

Company funds, assets, resources, or facilities may not be used to support political candidates, parties, or campaigns.

Any change to this position would require prior approval from the Executive Team, a documented assessment of legal, ethical, social, and environmental implications, and transparent disclosure where appropriate.

Anti-corruption and bribery

Prescription Beauty has zero tolerance for bribery and corruption in connection with lobbying, political engagement, or interactions with public officials.

Employees, representatives, and third parties acting on behalf of Prescription Beauty must not offer, promise, give, request, or accept any improper payment, gift, benefit, or other advantage intended to influence a public official, policymaker, political organisation, or other stakeholder.

All lobbying and political engagement must comply with applicable anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws and Prescription Beauty’s internal policies and procedures.

Intermediary organisations and third parties

Prescription Beauty recognises that indirect lobbying may occur through intermediary organisations such as industry associations, trade bodies, partnerships, consultants, external advisors, or other third parties.

Before entering into or renewing relevant relationships, Prescription Beauty assesses, where appropriate, whether the organisation engages in lobbying or political activities and whether those activities are consistent with this policy.

Prescription Beauty periodically reviews relevant memberships, partnerships, and external engagements to identify potential indirect lobbying activities.

Where an intermediary organisation takes a lobbying or public policy position that materially conflicts with this policy or Prescription Beauty’s social or environmental commitments, Prescription Beauty will assess the appropriate response. This may include engaging with the organisation, requesting corrective action, publicly clarifying Prescription Beauty’s position, or terminating the relationship or membership.

Risk management and monitoring

Prescription Beauty periodically evaluates potential risks related to lobbying and political engagement, including indirect influence through partners, industry associations, consultants, or other intermediary organisations.

The company identifies and manages risks related to direct lobbying activities, indirect influence through intermediary organisations, political contributions, bribery and corruption, conflicts with the company’s social or environmental commitments, and non-compliance with internal policies.

Appropriate controls include internal approval procedures for relevant external engagements, due diligence on partners and affiliations, monitoring of intermediary organisations where relevant, employee awareness and guidance, and escalation of identified concerns to the Head of Compliance.

Findings are documented and reported internally and are used to continuously improve governance practices.

Based on the outcomes of the risk assessment, Prescription Beauty develops and maintains mitigation actions where necessary. Such actions include defined responsibilities, appropriate timelines, and follow-up measures.

Accountability and governance

The Executive Team is the governance body with ultimate responsibility for the approval of this Lobbying Policy and for strategic oversight of lobbying and political engagement.

The Head of Compliance is responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and day-to-day oversight of this policy and for reporting material risks, incidents, or potential breaches to the Executive Team.

The Executive Team formally reviews this policy at least annually and approves any material amendments. An additional review will be conducted when significant changes occur in applicable legislation, Prescription Beauty’s activities, lobbying or political engagement practices, or identified risks.

The Head of Compliance monitors compliance with this policy and reports relevant findings to the Executive Team as part of the annual review and, where necessary, on an ad hoc basis.

Monitoring and evaluation

Prescription Beauty regularly evaluates the effectiveness of its lobbying policy, governance framework, risk management measures, and control mechanisms.

This includes reviewing whether the company or relevant intermediary organisations have become involved in lobbying or political activities and whether such activities remain consistent with the principles established in this policy.

Any identified non-compliance is assessed, documented, and addressed through appropriate corrective or mitigating actions.

Implementation of the policy

The policy is embedded in the organisation through internal communication and guidance, integration into relevant processes such as partnerships and external engagements, due diligence and approval procedures, and training or awareness activities for relevant employees.

Employees and representatives who may interact with policymakers, public officials, industry associations, or other relevant external stakeholders are expected to understand and comply with this policy.

Speak-up mechanism

Prescription Beauty is committed to maintaining an open and transparent culture in which concerns can be raised without fear of retaliation.

Stakeholders, including employees, partners, and other relevant parties, can raise concerns or report potential breaches related to the company’s business conduct, lobbying practices, political engagement, bribery, corruption, political contributions, or activities of intermediary organisations through the company’s grievance mechanism.

Reports can be submitted confidentially and, where possible, anonymously. All concerns are handled in accordance with the company’s grievance procedures, ensuring appropriate investigation and follow-up.
